McGregor Magic Open Garden Festival
21 – 23 September 2019
A rainbow celebration of horticulture in the Cape. Over 30 private gardens open to view amongst the Springtime splendour of indigenous semi-Karoo colour. The village of McGregor was laid out with a system of ‘Lei water’ channels fed from a dam. Mountain-water is controlled to supply the village – originally for small holdings to grow fruit trees, like apricots. This system still feeds the semi Karoo climate gardens and plots today, though few orchards remain… avid gardener residents are thankful during hot, dry summers.
Expert talks, workshops & a Garden Market.
